In unprecedented form, my kid, Jonny Guru Jr., actually bought me candy for a change. He and his momma were camping, and sadly dad had to stay home and work. So on the way back, they stopped at a little candy store and picked these up for me.
Very cool packaging. Ironic that the kid got me these, as he can’t eat pecans or other tree nuts. Poor kid. Poor, sad, deprived little kid….he only gets every other piece of candy on the known universe on a daily basis.
Peach piece is clearly hand wrapped, and even from the outside of the wrapper, you can tell that real ingredients are used. This thing definitely won’t hold up for a year on a shelf. And that’s good, folks!
Umm….ok. I was expecting more of a shaped caramel, but this is pretty cool. You can actually see the moist sugar laden bits on the edges. There’s a nice salt note too, that really works with the bourbon and pecan flavors.
I have to say though, this is a SWEET candy. A little too sweet for me, generally speaking. But as it turns out, I kept going back for the complexity of flavors it held. Overall, a nice treat, especially if you’re into pecan flavor.
In in a weird modern day twist of fate though, I can find no evidence of thes existing online. Not only that, but the family doesn’t remember the exact place where they bought them. So by my logic, it’s not out of the question that they were abducted by aliens, had their memories wiped, and Were released back to earth with these. At least it’s an option.
If if you guys find these though, let me know what you think of them.
These look homemade in a “there’s no way the FDA approved these” way and that means I will need to take your word for it.
