I’ll just lead off with the requisite this isn’t licorice, licorice is only black etc blah blah.

No, this isn’t licorice – it’s LIQUORICE!

I saw these in World Market with Junior, and as per our rule, if we haven’t seen it before and it looks halfway decent, we buy it.  I remember clearly saying “oh these are gonna be horrible” as I threw them into our cart.

But I was wrong.  So wrong.

yay for the trippy colors and look.  But it’s the taste and the chew that makes these outstanding.  There’s 5 flavors here : strawberry, blueberry, lemon, cola and green apple.  All of them share the sweet cream center, which I’d imagine would be a turn off for me.  But it’s the opposite- it’s the SHIT, yo!

They’re super chewy with that classic Twizzlers-esque plastic-y feel on the outside, albeit not quite as plastic like.  As you chew it, it gives a bit of resistance and doesn’t break down super quick-but as you’re chewing it, the cream center comes into play, squeezing out and basically getting in on the fun.  I really really like these-they’re perfect to eat in a mix, or by themselves.  But I found myself hunting these out in my candy jar and folks- I have a LOT of good loose candy in my candy jar, so that’s saying something.

These are a fun, child-like candy that just happen to be tasty as hell.  They look badass too in a candy jar, and if you don’t have a candy jar by now…seriously, what the hell are you waiting for?  Life is short.  Get it.
