We’re gonna double reviews this week from the same manufacturer: Kimmie Candy Company. They’re mostly known (at least to me) for their chocolate covered sunflower seeds. And I LOVE sunflower seeds, so I’m all in on those.
While we’re on that subject, I need to say two things about sunflower seeds in general. One, there’s no excuse anyomore for eating seeds that aren’t jumbo sized. The little ones are annoyingly difficult to crack open. Second, the dude or lass who invented the resealable seeds bag should win the next Nobel prize. I’m really not sure why I never thought of it, because I’ve been struggling with rubber bands and clips, trying to seal up my open bags for the last 20 years or so, This is progress, folks, let’s embrace it.
Back to the sweets. Today we got something new from Kimmie, and here’s the headline on them: I LIKE.
You can’t throw a stick these days without hitting something that’s salted with caramel. Be it a frappe, a latte, frozen yogurt or regular yogurt, that shit is salted. And caramely! Usually it works out ok, as it’s such a winning combination. Sometimes though, it’s too bland, or way to much caramel, or-the worst offense-not enough salt. No one has the cajones to use too much salt except the Germans on their licorice. Us Americans are scared.
These salted caramel chocorocks nail it. They really blend salt notes, caramel, and chocolate well. Add to that, the chocolate is super creamy, with a slight crunch on the outside. Lots of stuff going on here. Plus, there’s a metric shit-ton included in the streamlined packaging, so you definitely feel like you’re getting your money’s worth.
I say follow the yellow rock road, kids. These are good, novel, and available via the link below.
