“Disappearing from candy jars since 1924” is their slogan, and dammit if it isn’t fitting.  You might have stumbled across these in your hard candy travels, but I hadn’t previously.  Now that situation has been rectified.  Coming in four flavors, these are just simple fruit hard candies.  But…they have ATTITUDE.

All four of these boxes describe the candy inside as having “tang” aside from the key lime, which has a “twist”.  And they do, they’re all really, really delicious.  And small too, which is cool for hard candies.

Peach buds are their flagship candy, which have just a touch of coconut in them for a bit of creaminess.  Truth be told, I didn’t pick up the coconut at all-it just tastes like a super ripe peach, which the aforementioned delicious tart finish.  Absolutely perfect.  But maybe that coconut is instrumental in said perfectness?

Next up, the key lime.  How many candies can you think of that are flavored with key limes?  Not a lot.  And you can definitely taste the keys in there.  If you’ve ever had key limes, you know what I’m talking about.  Super delicious & zesty.

Moving on, we have lemon.  This is one that seems the most “olde” fashioned to me, the most common flavor.  Not quite as tart as I was imagining due to how the other two flavors tastes, but this one still is super yummy.

Lastly, we got cherry.  If you’ve been reading our reviews for any amount of time, you know that cherry is pretty far down my ladder of preference.  I’m not gonna lie, these are my least favorite of the four, but that’s only because I adore the other three flavors.  These cherry buds are definitely tasty, and are great in a mix of all the flavors.

They make these candies as you’d expect-the old school way in copper kettles.  Turns out they also have a few other varieties: Honeybell Buds flavored with orange blossoms, aaaand….Old Fashioned Holiday Candy!  Love that shit.

Obviously you have to be open to hard candy to enjoy these, but the flavor is so poppin’, I defy anyone to not really dig at least a few flavors.  I love old companies who do things the same way year after year-if it aint broke, don’t fix it.  And I love that these are made in Nashville because Nashville.

People, it’s true that Grandmas love these, but you don’t HAVE to be a Grandma to get down with the hard candy, especially wonderful stuff like this.  Click the link below to grab some, if you’re not scared.
