Bona Vita Brause Flaschcen : That’s German for “Orange & Cola Deliciousness”

Not really made by Americans, the Germans are kooky for these! You should be too.

I was pretty enticed by the packaging of these dextrose delights:

Sure, when you get down to brass tacks, they’re simply dextrose candy, not too dissimilar from SweeTarts.  But they’re oh so much more.

Inside the box is a stuffed bag of only these two flavors : cola and orange.  And they’re great iterations, especially the cola.  Not subtle in any way, it’s zingy, cool, and retro tasting.  Very much a cold glass of cola.  The orange is good, a bit creamy, but also has a touch of zing to it too.  I really liked that there were only two flavors included, as they’re such a great combination.

There’s a lot of candy like this made in Germany, and it’s pretty much all good.  These however, are extremely hard to track down.  Not only can I not find anywhere to buy them, but I can’t even find a photo of them online.  That’s some seriously scarce shit, yo.

So for now…just eat with your eyes.  Less tasty, but easier on the muffin-top.

I’m glad they’re good because the packaging is strange. Maybe it’s the color output but the brown external package says “there’s chocolate in here” and the bag of dextrose looks shaded in black, which says “really, we’re vitamins. We need no light. Don’t let us out of this bag until you are ready to eat.”
