I never thought I’d say this, but we’ve had a LOT of ginger hard candies come through our  bustling corpo office in recent years.  After a while, despite being generally good, they get very same-y.  Always tasty, but…just not so exciting anymore.  In fact, I’ve tried at least 3 different ginger & lime hard candies, which is what this new offering is.  But this one….really kicks the ass of all the others.

The concept is always the same: a hard candy, tasting of lime & ginger, with a soft “bonbon” center.  These have that same party going on, but the ginger.  It’s all about the ginger in this one, because it’s absolutely beautiful tasting.  So forefront and authentic, and very spicy-I really was impressed by the genuine ginger spice level.

Know what the worst part of reviewing hard candies is?  The photo of the candy itself:

Not very sexy, is it?  But I’m here to say it’s an outstanding candy, and I’d buy them again in a heartbeat-if I could.  Nope.  The Germans get to swim in these, and we don’t.

This makes no sense, really.  Don’t we have ginger & limes out here?

ARE WE NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR THESE, AS AMERICANS?

Judging from recent events, I’ll hold my answer on that one.
