Rowntrees Juicy Jellies, Yummy Smellies!

If they made cologne that smelled like these, I'd wear the hell out of it.

Ahh, 2010. A new year, new opportunities, and new candy. All good. Let’s keep this one short but sweet:

In the spirit of giving, I’d like to present to you a find. They’re not easy to come across, but if you can locate them, you’re in a for a treat. Ladies and Germs, I present to you some of the best tasting gummies I’ve come across:

The Juicy Jellies, on first look, seem like your garden variety gummies:

But they’re not. The flavors aren’t a huge departure from the UK norm either: Lemon, Lime, Strawberry and Black Currant. However, when you open the bag, you’re hit with a floral aroma that just jumps out of the bag (that’s a good thing). When you taste one, the flavor explosion is insane. They’re soft, not usually my thing, but in this case, it works to the advantage of the candy.

I’m not sure what they did to these to make them so jacked up (aside from the 25% real fruit juice flavoring), but I like it. And it’s not just me: the wife and literally everyone else I’ve ever shared these with falls in love.

So what’s the bad news? As you might expect, they’re tough to find. I bought them from one of our vendors on our “where to buy” page, Jolly Grub, but they seem to be out of them currently. I’ll keep on working on finding a source and will post something when I do.

Are they nose exploders because of the aroma when you open the bag? Or did they make you sneeze…
